Listed below are some of the powerful LETTEREASE features:
LETTEREASE
LETTEREASE is a high-quality font package with powerful software
for manipulation of words and lettering. It is designed to give
you total control of Text Inside all versions of AutoCAD with
professional layout tools and is much more than just a font "library".
It works completely inside AutoCAD with Releases 14,15,2004,2005
Windows, Windows NT, Windows XP and is extremely easy to use.
LETTEREASE features include:
Text Entry and Edit
The LETTEREASE LTEXT command provides all the text entry options
of AutoCAD's TEXT and DTEXT commands, plus much more. With the
LTEXT command you can:
Dynamically enter single or multiple lines of text.
Automatically Kern LETTEREASE and PostScript fonts.
Manually adjust spacing between a character or selection
of characters.
Move cursor or insert text at any position in a line of a
text.
Select or Delete text in the middle of a text entity.
Dynamically type on a circle.
Dynamically type text along a polyline.
Change the style, height, width factor, or obliquing angle
of a text entity.
Increase or Decrease the spacing between 2 or more lines
of text.
Dynamically Overscore and Underscore.
Styles and Fonts Command
The LETTEREASE Style dialog box allows you to Visually
Set, Add, Modify, and Rename styles in your drawing. You
can also access all font settings like, Font Name, Text Height,
Width Factor, Obliquing Angle, and more.
Text to Blocks
The ability to convert LETTEREASE text
into either Precision Outline or Precision Filled blocks is one
of the most powerful features of LETTEREASE. Block-based
lettering is free from the editing limitations of shape files.
With Precision Outline you can customize, overlap, hatch, or edit
the letters to create artistic logos and effects. Precision Filled
allows you to produce solid filled sharp lettering at larger sizes.
Blocks to Text, allows you to convert Block based lettering back
to text form.
Explode Text
The Explode Text command allows you to explode text entities
into closed polylines. You can explode both AutoCAD (.shx) and
PostScript Type 1 fonts (.pfb) with very accurate results. This
lets you Customize, Hatch, apply PostScript Fill Patterns, or
send text to machine processes that require closed polylines.
Kern and Adjust Space
The Kern and Adjust Space command lets you adjust the character
spacing. Kerning is a term referring to the slight adjustments
of spacing between each letter so that the overall view of a word
or line of lettering is pleasing to the eye. Each letter style
has a unique kerning table used to do these calculations.
Two Point Justify
The Two Point Justify command lets you justify one or more
lines of text between two points or two margin lines. The characters
themselves are not distorted or scaled as with the AutoCAD's Fit
and Align options. The lettering is justified by adjusting the
spacing between each character.
Change Style
The Change Style command lets you easily change text from
one style to another style, either globally or by selection. The
new text is automatically realigned to the original justifications
to keep the intent of the layout.
Change Text Alignment
The Change Text Alignment allows you to modify the justification
method used for existing text entities. The text entities are
not moved, only the insertion point of the entity is changed.
Match Text Settings
The Match Text command allows you to match the Style, Spacing
Factor, Text Height, Width Factor, Obliquing Angle, or match all
style settings of a specific text entity already placed in your
drawing.
Dialog Box Interface
LETTEREASE features an easy to use Dialog box interface. A
single command gives you access to all LETTEREASE functions.
On-line Help
Help is always available from LETTEREASE dialog boxes or commands.
If you have a question on how to use a LETTEREASE command, help
is only a keystroke away.
